Butter chicken Naan time

Ingredients: Butter chicken

700 gr chicken

125 gr yogurt

2 cloves garlic

3 cm ginger

2 tsp garam masala

1 tsp turmeric

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp salt


Ingredients: Sauce

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp oil

2 onions

2 red peppers

4 cloves garlic

3 cm ginger

1.5 tsp cumin

1.5 tsp chili powder

1.5 tsp garam masala

1 tsp coriander powder

2 tsp turmeric

400 gr sieved tomatoes

1.5 tsp salt

300 ml cream

2 tsp sugar

1 tsp fenugreek

100 g unsalted butter

fresh coriander

300 ml water

Instructions: Chicken

Cut the chicken in cubes.

Put the chicken cubed in a bowl together with the yogurt, garlic, ginger and all herbs.

Leave to marinade for at least 30 minutes.

Put some oil in a pan and cook the chicken untill it changes color. Doesn't have to be done, it will cook further in the sauce.


Instructions: Sauce

Put the butter and oil in the same pan where you cooked the chicken.

Add the chopped onions and glace them.

Add the garlic, ginger and peppers. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the cumin, chili powder, masala, turmeric and coriander.

Cook untill the herbs start to smell.

Add the tomatoes, 300 ml water and salt. Simmer for 20 minutes.

Put everything in the blender and blend untill smooth.

Simmer for 45 to 60 minutes.

Add the cooked chicken and simmer for another 10 minutes.

Add the cream, sugar and fenugreek.

Add the butter in small pieces.

Cook till the desired thickness.
